Black wolf is our interpretation of a Cascadian Dark Ale. Also known as an India Black Ale, this style was born in the Cascadia region- A bioregion that was once proposed as its own country, extending from Alaska, through B.C. down the west coast to Oregon and northern California. The name Black wolf is a tribute to the wolves that still roam the Cascadian valleys. it is also our very own offering to the wolf-dog that was sacrificed to the river serpent by a Black foot man in exchange for a "saamis", or Medicine Hat, needed to save his people from famine in our own local lore. The story of the saamis is depicted in a brick mural in Medicine Hat's City Hall.

355ml can. Pours an opaque dark brown almost black with a large, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, earth, coffee, grapefruit and piney hops. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, ash, coffee and grapefruit with a dry, bitter, piney hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Tasty and well made.

Crowler - Minty, leafy, pine hops with roast. Jet black with a decent white head. Dark roast and pine bitterness. Solid and true to style.
