When we began to think about a series of bolder beers with higher alcohol content we wanted to elucidate it to our consumers. Therefore, we call this series of beer Thurbo. Our neighboring village is called Turbo and we chose to go with the old spelling of that village. We’ve used big amounts of munchener malt that contributes with a malt sweetness and a touch of biscuitness. The residual sweetness takes the edges of the high alcohol content and the bitterness. The hop varieties lend a mixed bag of grape and citrus with slight herbal elements.

330 ml bottle from Secret Santa 2017, thanks to Nische for this bottle! Pours with a clear, dark amber color and a white head. Restrained nose, then overipe, tropical fruits with sweet herbal hops. Taste is more citirc and grapefruits, with nice resinous hops. Long lasting bitter-sweet finish with lots of hops. Would like it better, if the sweet taste where not as intense as it is.

Bottle. Thanks to whoever brought it! Golden body, off white head. Onion notes and fruity touches in the otherwise heavily malty, if a bit dry aroma. Smoooooth taste, clean maltiness and orangey hoppiness, orange juice almost, very light bitterness. A nice enough beer.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear amber color with medium creamy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of tropical fruit, grass, pine and a bit of paper. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel and resinous, following is grassy, mouthfeel is warming with well hidden alcohol, while finish is pleasant bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. Great old school IPA...

Bottle. A lightly hazy golden colored beer with a small white head. Just a thin layer of bubbles actually. No lacing. The aroma is piney and grapefruity with a touch of grass and dusty malts. A light malty touch too. It's full bodied and lightly warming, very soft on the palate, with an appropriate bitterness matching the sweetness. Well, not matching really, but at levels you'd expect from a double IPA. Sweet, malty back and piney, grapefruity flavours up front. Some tropical notes too. For sure a decent double IPA, quite easy drinkable too, but a tad old school. 170928

Opalescent dark golden to orange colour, moderate sized creamy off-white head; aroma of grapefruit, piney and lemony notes; taste is dominated by hoppy bitterness with bitter marmalade, resiny and grapefruit notes; not bad at all!

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear copper pour with slight red hue, thin off-white head, quickly diminishing. Nose bursting with hops. Fruity, grassy, refreshing pine notes. Clean and crisp. Medium body, medium carbonation. Thick texture, slightly oily palate. Very smooth. Pretty high bitterness dominates the taste. However, it is incredibly well balanced and not once does it feel off or harsh. Aroma pretty much similar to nose. Subtle sweet malty backbone leading into rich hop bitterness. Grassy, citrus fruits, lots of grapefruit and mango, some passion fruit notes too. Pine. Peppery. Alcohol well hidden by the bitterness. A bit grainy. Drying mouthfeel. Long finish, dry and bitter, leaves you craving for another sip. Overall, excellent Imperial IPA. Clean, crisp and rfreshingly bitter. Incredibly tasty, well done.

0,33 l bottle shared with Kristall-König. Smells stronger than their normal IPA. Taste starts fruity with a malty. Less alcoholic. Mid long lasting bitterness. Nice.

Aroma sitrus, humle, malt, noe gjær. Utseende tåkete halvmørk gylden nesten uten skum. Smak sitrus, alkohol, humle, malt. Mye bitterhet, litt alkoholsmak, men ikke plagsomt, medium fylde, ikke så lang ettersmak. Godt øl. Flaske kjøpt på Systembolaget Storheden Luleå 33cl 8,5% BF0118
