Bottle @ ZZT7 thx to Ceasar. Copper colour with a small off-white head. Smells sourish, red fruits, fresh. Like a flemmish red. Tastes sourish, slightly dusty, fresh, red fruits. Slightly dry, thin to medium body, fizzy carbo.

Personal contribution @ ‘The Adam Jackson Tasting’. Thx! to tderoeck for picking this one up. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Pours orange brownish with a reasonable white head. Sour USA brett in the nose, light tart fruits, malts and children’s aspirin. Taste is sour dark jam fruits, sweet kid’s aspirin, USA brett, some bitter caramel and orange peel, sweet spices, didn’t get cacao, maybe if I knew it was there and really tried? No one got cacao anyway. Medium to fuller body esp. for a sour. Agreeable, easy to drink.

25/II/13 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a - bottled: XII/14/11 (2013-194) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Clear amber to dark orange beer, small yellowish fizzy head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit fruity, apricots, bit dusty, floral, soapy, sweet touch. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, bit sourish, fruity, apricots, bitter touch. Aftertaste: sourish, lemony, bit dry, overripe fruits, some vinegar, orange peel, chemical ending. Not a brown ale. Nothing Belgian monastic to it. No cocoa in it. Weird sourish and chemical flavours. Nope, it's not working for me. But I think 77ships might have a new top 10 beer. :-p

Tap. Pours cloudy amber brown with a small beige head and great lacing. Aroma is light tart, bit of funk, lemon, cherry, cinnamon, caramel. Flavor is the same, with strong orange zest and cinnamon notes. Light body, light astringence. Meh

75 cl bottle @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Rated on 29.01.2010
Aroma is sourish with citrus, earthy and leathery notes – feels quite like Orval. Flavour is also somewhat sour with citrus, ripe fruits, earthy notes and roastiness. The salty & sour JP aroma does not fit here very well.

Bottle, 75cl. It pours an unclear, amber body, topped by a dense, beige, finger-thick head. The aroma has the typical funky, light citrusy Jolly Pumpkin signature. There’s some maltyness present, both in the aroma and in the flavor, a light spiced touch as well, and as the aroma, also the flavor is citric and funky. Medium body and pleasant carbonation, finishing funky and lightly spiced. A pleasant and easy drinkable beer. 111229
