The third pillar in our family of lagers, our Vienna is modelled after the traditional copper coloured, malt-driven lagers originating from the Anton Dreher Brewery of Austria. Brewed in a manner similar to a classic Märzen, this beer requires a delicate touch and extensive aging. It is tradition in a glass, and like finely sculpted marble, the deeper you look, the more beautiful it gets.

Bottle - Light grains and caramel with a touch of vegetal notes. Clear copper gold with a rich beige head. Much like it smells.

On tap at Tap & Barrel Coal Harbour, pours a clear bronze with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and some vegetal notes. Flavour is very vegetal but not in too detracting a way, with other notes of bready malt. Simple beer. Not so good.

Draught at Tap & Barrel, Coal Harbour, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with persistent creamy head. Smooth brew; it has a very strong character of dirty water, some paper; dry; correct bitterness; some astringency in the end.
Not exactly good.

A rather boring brew with some hints of smoke and hazelnut, but not in any strong fashion. Little head, boring brown body. Indeed the nuttiness is its strong point but there is little here in the way of complexity or uniqueness.

Some head and lacing. Pretty red in colour. Aroma a little hoppy, a little malty. Finish has some sweetness and bitterness. Average carbonation. Sample at the brewery.
