Conditioned with Cocoa Nibs, rich silky dark chocolate flavours are at the forefront of this robust porter. With hints of vanilla, a creamy and decadent malt body make this porter a delicious, grownup version of a winter treat. The perfect bottle to share during this season of giving.

On tap. Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black with a small, creamy, short lived tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, earth and light coffee. Semi-sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth, ash and stale coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not nearly as sweet as I thought it would be, which improves drinkability.

Super dry. Not much hot chocolate taste. More like bitterness from cacao nibs. Sk coop

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of nutty chocolate, a bit of plastic and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional peanuts. Thinner than expected but like a porter. Was thinking the hot chocolate title would come with something chocolatey and creamy. Not so

Poured from 473mL can. Near black with tan head. Very mild roast malt start with a more dominant dark chocolate middle and a mild bitter roast finish. The chocolate notes are nice, but if the roast complimented it better, it would be very good.

Has a good sharp barley aroma, a darker brown body with minimal foam. Flavour is nice molasses barley with hints of coffee. Finish is medium leaning toward soft. An okay porter with good sweetness.

Draft - Dark sweet chocolate. Jet black with a decent light brown head. Sweet dark chocolate and more like syrup in the finish. Not my thing.

Bottle 650ml bought at Bainbridge Liquor store. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a small beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, chocolate cake. Taste is like very dry chocolate cake. Burnt malt aftertaste. Good one.

Draught at the brewery
Black color with tan compact head. Nice dark chocolate aroma, almost like a Lindt bar. Quite smooth, with plenty of dark chocolate, it’s on the dry side.
Very good. I’d like to see a sweeter Imperial version of this.

On tap at Raven's, pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma brings out lots of chocolate upfront, with a touch of roast. Flavour is extremely chocolatey, with loads of dark chocolate dominating. Just a touch of bitterness. This is a like a dark chocolate beer melted into beer form. Very nice.
