Holy Willie begins life in two lands, with BC and British specialty barley, with malted & flaked oats; but He feels the fires below more than others and his passion quickly turns to the Dark Side. Holy Willie must first destroy the young malts, but he is brewed to bring balance to the craft. His IBU bitterness is hidden behind chocolate roasted malts, the swirling maelstrom of his character is bold yet creamy, acrid yet malty. This stout ale, this Robust Porter tells you “Look, I am your Father”.

Muddy brownish black body and okay foam, soft sweet barley on the nose and nothing else. Flavour is muddy caramel sweetness and molasses. The porter is missing - this just tastes like its untreated ingredients.

On tap at Victoria Caledonian Brewery & Distillery, pours black wth a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of dark cocoa and a touch of roasted malt. Flavour is medium-bodied, with more body for a porter, with dark chocolate, some roasted malt and a touch of coffee. Robust and well-balanced. Really good porter.

Draft - Dark chocolate notes and a lightness. Jet brown with a frothy beige head. Light roast, cocoa and a very light and easy finish. Very light.
