Golden-brown. Thin head. Toasty character leans towards the earthy, English pale ale interpretation. A bit thin but easy drinking. Would never call this an IPA, though.

On tap at Callister, pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out a fair amount of berry-like fruitiness and earthy hops. Flavour is very harsh, with a massively astringent wood varnish quality dominating here. Dry, bitter and perfumey. This is definitely off. Can't drink this.

Draught at Callister, Vancouver
Red-amber color, between hazy and cloudy. The aroma is mildly spicy (rye?) and fruity (hops; like bitter orange peel); light perfume, and dust. The mouthfeel is bold, not sweet, but the flavor is based on caramel, a bit chewy, and covering the hops; as such the dusty and spicy character of the malts overwhelms the resiny hops.
Not a bad beer, but not the IPA you expect in 2016.

Draft - Earthy Woody notes and some herbal leaf. Cloudy Amber with a small white head. Herbal and earthy, more like a bitter.
