This limited release Belgian Golden Strong is crafted to be bright and crsip with a medium body. Lightly fruity and spicy, the aging in red wine oak barrels has imparted delicate toasted oak and caramel notes. Combined with sweet vanilla overtones and a deceptive 10.6% abv, the barrel process has added depth and complexity to an already delicious beer.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy golden color. A boring strong Ale, a bit too boozy, with clear bourbon character; moderate sweetness. Cloying.

Bottle - Sweet and some stone fruit. Cloudy gold with a dcent white head. Creamy stone fruit and a long finish. Lots of stone fruit.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out some butter, with light vanilla and woody notes, followed by Belgian yeast -- very messy and confused. Flavour almost has a banana-like quality to it, but is very confused, with lots of alcohol, barrels and vanilla. Very obscured and uncoordinated. Not sure what the hell they were going for. Doesn't work.

Cloudy and amber, but it looks a bit flat without much head. The aroma has some vinous notes, random esters but I can’t figure them out, and maybe some vegetal character. Very sweet. On the palate, the vinous stuff doesn’t show through too much. Honestly, this has not come together, but then the base beer really isn’t that good to begin with. Unless you’re going to dry that stuff out, there’s not much you can do.
