A dry stout with a creamy oatmeal head. The roasted barley offers notes of coffee, while the american oak provides aromas of vanilla and wood.

Muddy brown body with minimal head. Sweet barley on the nose but little else. Flavour is sweet coffee with barley and brownie notes. Adequate but rather simple.

Draft - Chocolate and nutty roast. Jet brown with a decent small light brown head. Nutty, coconut and chocolate notes with a light choclate finish. No oak but some nice light roast nutty notes.

Dull brown. No head. Not sure if the oak killed the head or what, but it’s a bad look. Chocolatey nose that would be much more expressive if it had a head. Sweet taste, sort of generic portery, not sure I’m pulling any oak and no malt nuance either Disappointing. This type of beer should be richer and more complex

On tap at Faculty, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out light oak and toasted malt upfront. Flavour is similar, with oak chips dominating upfront, followed by dry toasted malt and a hint of vanilla. Light body and lacking in depth. Not bad, but needs some amping up.

Draught at the brewery
Dark brown color, near black, apparently headless. Mild aroma, mildly roasted malts and yeast cake. Lowly carbonated, for a soft mouthfeel, it’s rather dry, with a blend of roasted malts and light coffee, lightly biscuity in the end, but I wouldn’t have guessed "oak" if I didn’t knew, although there is an alien note. It seems mellower in the final, more bready, with some roasted nuts.
Ok.
