Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, soy sauce, chocolate, wood, and wine. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, chocolate, wood, and wine, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle @ Steve_0 during my 10k tick fest. Thanks Armin! Black appearance with a dark brown head. Gooey caramel, rich dark chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, and a little bit of spice. Thick and gooey. A little boozy. Some soy, vanilla, super rich molasses / honey, grape, and plum. High sweetness, moderate bitterness. It’s not crazy boozy. Thick. Sort of fun.

22oz bomber shared by Brad. Brown-black body. Aged quite well. Oily beige head. Brown sugar richness. Sublime, something I don’t think I’ve said about other Dark Lords. Port notes. Pretty excellent. Grape tones are never vinous or out of place..but there is some juicy grape flavor among the sugary brown chocolate. Phenomenal.

Bottle shared at the 5K/7.5K/10K tasting - who the hell has a 7.5K tasting?, big thanks to Jackl for this rarity, 30/12/14. #243/1021. Light black with a decent tan covering that dissipates to spotting and the edge of the vessel. Nose is rich roast, tar, sweet, port like qualities, woody notes. Taste comprises raisnes, big on dark fruits, sweet malt, chocolate, dark malt, roasted notes, port notes, light BA effect. Full bodied, oily body, sweet and viscous. Solid enough Impy, masks the 15% very well, a little too sweet for this Bois tho’!

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Jack L. Pours oily black-brown with a frothy beige head. The nose holds chocolate syrup, burnt cedar, earth, toffee, dried berries. Big sweet flavor, quite sugary, with burnt butterscotch, roast, cocoa, berries. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, syrupy, with liquefied fruits, more chocolate, fruitcake, grapes. A sweet beast.
