11/12/12/13/9/13

330 ml bottle bought @ Être Gourmet. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with a rather small frothy brownish white head that quickly dissipates while leaving some trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with bread, smoke, wood, dried meat, dried sweet dark fruits, hay, cereal and green herbs like oregano and thyme. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour, malty and tiny metallic with dark bread, golden syrup, smoke, caramel, hay, orange zest, wood, plums, raisins, toffee, wet soil, hints of oily pine and very subtle hints of barnyard. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and tiny metallic with dark rye bread, sweet dark fruits, smoke, wood, lemon zest and hay. Wow! A very nice surprise!

Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of smoke and light sweet caramel malt base is quite nice. Taste is also a good mix between some smoke notes with some medium sweet caramelized malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice balance between smoke notes and caramelized sugar with provides a great drinking experience.

Botttle. A small, dense, light beige head forms on top of a clear, golden body. The aroma has some ham and mackerel smoke hints, with maltyness and hoppyness quite evident. Smoked flavor with caramel and a touch of bitterness. Full-bodied. Bitter and lighlty smoked finish. Well, although I’d easily choose a Schlenkerla Märzen over this anytime, I wouldn’t mind drinking more of it, even though the aroma has a little bit strange smokeyness, which is actually quite nice. 110916

33cl bottle pours murky brown with some amber hues and lasting off white head. The aroma offers up a nice smooth rauch bacony note followed by light spicy yeastiness and really not too much else. The taste is similar with smooth smoky bacon mixing with light amounts of wood notes and then maybe spicy hops, a touch of floral hops and then a hint of yeast in the background. Darn nice Rauch.

33cl bottle from Emelisse Biershop.

Dark brown beer with a quite weak and blond head. Aroma is smoky, tar, tarliquirice, nice sweetness and also some smoked cheese. Taste is dry and smoky, tar, roastiness and some herbs, Medium bodied, anyway, surprisingly quite light, slippery and style like to drink. Very nice beer that based on dry smokyness, enjoyable, smoked cheese have to be mentioned as a funny nuancee.
