Draft at Funkwerks - hazy copper - medium honey sweetness, though not sticky it cloying - white pepper and other medium spicy phenolics - moderate grassy and floral hoppiness - not quite as clean or balanced as I’d hoped, but a fair Americanized version.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden color. Aroma of cinnamon roll, delicate, biscuity. It has a sweetish flavor, with some malt, some cinnamon; it’s a bit boozy, biscuity; impression of cake.
Balanced, unexpected , nice.

Hazy, light blonde. Sweet and bland, has a touch of spice- nutmeg maybe - but really it just comes across as flat.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of candied sugar and Belgian yeast, smelling anything but authentic. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with Belgian yeast and candied sugar dominating. Inauthentic, too sweet and just not what I want in a tripel. Meh.

Draft - Sweet honey and grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Light sweet grains and a touch of spice. OK.

On tap at St. Augustines on Rare Beer Tap Takeover. Aroma is fruity, some strange chemical sweetness like in artificial cherry. Same taste. Meh.

Sampled at the brewery, 11/25/15. Nice Belgian style tripel with some banana, bubble gum, and other similar flavors. Tropical hops as well, and a slightly hoppier version of the style in general. Nice beer.

6oz pour at Funkwerks for $3. Beautiful, glowing, bright yellow orange appearance with a lasting white head. The aroma has a lot of banana and apple, some spices (black pepper, clove, nutmeg), and a hint of alcohol. Medium body. Moderately low sweetness, moderate bitterness. Kind of bready and chewy, some booze, light citrus, heavy clove, apple flavor. Not super easy to drink. I’d pass on this next time.
