3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend is a blend of one-, two-, three-and at least 25% four-year old lambics. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution in the bottle result in a distinctively complex beer.

No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions, etc. When cellared properly, 3 Fonteinen Golden Blend can be aged for several decades. Traditional lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley! Bottle fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurised.

Vintage 2011, tack David!

Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 16 375 ml bottle during a blind tasting, side by side with different A&G blends and the Oude Geuze. Bottled 12/01/2014. Thanks to Werckmeister! Amber-golden, clear body, with a big, frothy, light yellow head. Aroma of funk, horse blanket, oak, green apples, unripe pears, some cheese, some citrus. Tastes similar, while a bit lighter, but also pretty tart. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes tart, dry, wooden, medium sour, slightly funk, with unripe pears, green apples, Rerate: bottled 17/02/2011, shared by Sander, many thanks! The taste is more complex, with so beautiful, diverse fruits, with some subtle, honey-like sweetness. Carbonation is just perfect. Very tasty! Perfectly balanced, while so complex, with beautiful, diverse fruit notes. Elegant and characterful, drinks so smooth. Outstanding, enjoyed the 2011 much more than the 2014.
