Bottle poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a messy burnt copper color with chunks of something floating all throughout. Ginger bits? I don’t know but somewhat guessing it is as the head is fizzing out like no tomorrow.
The aroma had a super strong ginger spice, bold and up front and pummeling any sort of lemon sweet or bitter pulpiness which tried it’s best to come through, but didn’t.
The flavor leaned towards the ginger spicy bits. Aftertaste was all about the ginger bits and so was the finish.
The palate was somewhere between light and medium bodied with no sort of sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, well, if Bent Hill has been reading my reviews on their beers for a while, they should get a clue that they’re not up to par with the rest of Vermont. And I’m a fan of ginger, just saying.

Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy amber color, small head. Strange aroma, soapy (the ginger), citrusy, a bit herbal (heather), light vanilla cookies. Caramelly flavor, moderately sweet, with a strong body; the ginger is moderate, but doesn’t add anything; earthy.
Weird idea, the result is not very good.

Bottle - Lots of herbal ginger notes with lemon. Cloudy copper with a small white head. Ginger and big bitter and almost boozy notes. Not good.

750mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours an opaque murky amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is bizarre, with lots of earthy ginger root upfront, followed by lemon and light hop resins buried underneath. Flavour is the same, with earthy ginger root upfront, with only a touch of lemon and zero sweetness. Extremely earthy and rather confused. Undercarbonated. Hard to see what they were going for here. Not pleasant.

Tap, at the brewery in Braintree, VT. Hazy orange. Slim, sticky, white head. Lots of lemon hop. Plenty of orange, too. I didn’t get much ginger, although the missus said it was the dominant aroma? Either way, this smells like a hop forward, juicy DIPA. Taste is zesty bitter. No way feels the ABV. Finishes spicy, juicy bitter. Nice one.
