Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy dark amber color, compact head. Some balsamic vinegar aroma and flavor, food body strength, round and smooth mouthfeel, lightly cheesy, yeasty, but it doesn’t disturb.
Good.

The menu didn’t tell me Free Will and McKenzie’s were in on this. Would have been nice to know, actually. Dark amber. Thin head. Aroma is woody. Taste is woody, balsamic. Tart, sweet accents. Quite good.

On tap at St. Augustines on Rare Beer Tap Takeover. Sweet-sour with cherry, barrels and a little bit of veggie notes. Very pleasant, similar to Flemish ales. Very good.

On tap at Farmhouse Festival Vancouver, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out pleasant earthiness, light Belgian yeast and light spicy rye. Flavour is incredibly complex, with lots of beautifully gentle spicy rye, earthy notes, moderate funk and a leathery oaky quality. Complex, harmonious and bold. This is an excellent concoction.
