Jutsu is our original hazy pale ale that has quickly risen to the ranks of favourite around here. It’s known for low bitterness, bold aromatics, bright fruity flavours, and of course, that characteristic haze.
Somewhere along the way we had the idea to take our regular recipe and turn the volume up to eleven -- we named it Double Jutsu. The hop aromatics and flavours in this beer are intensified, but the soft bitterness and smooth body remain.
What it smells and tastes like: Loaded with notes of ripe peach and nectarine, balanced by a soft bitterness, and profoundly delicious.

(500ml bottle from the brewery, bottled mid-April) ~1mo at time of drinking. Pours a hazy medium gold with a big eggshell head that fades to a cap with lace. Aroma is powerfully dominated by canned peaches, with a general preserved fruit cup vibe, citrus zest, orange especially, and a bit of sweet malt. Flavour has some candied orange, light stone fruit, a bunch of spicy, coniferous, peppery qualities, a touch floral, malt is slightly bready and softly sweet. Overall bitterness light to moderate for style. Medium bodied, soft carb, hint of alcohol. The bottles I’ve had are not all super-fresh, but I feel like recent Bellwoods IPAs are good on the nose and don’t live up on the tongue.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of fresh piney hops upfront, followed by melon, papaya and other tropical fruits, and a thin caramel malt backing. Dry, lightly bitter and super fresh despite being 2 months old. Excellent.

Bottle - Some light biscuit leafy hops, wet grass and light citrus. Clear gold with a rich white head. Sweet caramel and some leafy almost herbal hops. Light and easy drinking, hops don’t pack much of a punch but either does the ABV.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a nice large foamy head with good carbonation and some lacing. Aroma of fresh grassy hops with some citrusy notes is quite wonderful. Taste is also a great mix of fresh grassy hops notes with some citrusy notes and some light residuals sugar notes and limited amount of bitterness can be perceived. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Solid IPA though I could have done with a lower ABV.

Bouteille 500ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur orangée pâle limpide, mousse blanche duveteuse laissant une superbe dentelle. Arôme d’agrumes, herbacé, malt, pomélo. Goût d’agrumes, malt, houblon fruité, amertume plutôt élevée, écorce de citron. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen.
