Jutsu is our original hazy pale ale that has quickly risen to the ranks of favourite around here. It’s known for low bitterness, bold aromatics, bright fruity flavours, and of course, that characteristic haze.

Somewhere along the way we had the idea to take our regular recipe and turn the volume up to eleven -- we named it Double Jutsu. The hop aromatics and flavours in this beer are intensified, but the soft bitterness and smooth body remain.

What it smells and tastes like: Loaded with notes of ripe peach and nectarine, balanced by a soft bitterness, and profoundly delicious.

Can from the brewery. Cloudy, murky, opaque orange pour, with a large white head. A massive blast of peach and mango to begin. As the aroma develops there is some mint, and Basil, with copious amounts of freshly zested orange rind. Mouth feel is perfect, carb is the same. Low bitterness, alcohol is nowhere to be found. Dangerously easy drinking for a dipa. Huge dose of citrus in the end, light pithiness, and I find some nice mint carries all the hops and fruit to the finish line. High end stuff.

Can from the LCBO. Murky medium gold under a small lingering off white head that leaves stringy lace. Nose is bright citrus, stone fruit, melon, mango, honey, light bread, mint, pepper. Light sweet honey and bready malts support a medium- bitterness of citrus peel, pineapple, and grass. Mouth is full and creamy with slightly soft carbonation. A super juicy DIPA. 9/4/9/5/

Hazy golden colour with an amber hue. The head is frothy, bubbly, off-white with average retention and foamy lacing spots. Big orange juice aromas with some spicy grassy hops, honey and hints of peach. Citrus peel in the taste with some decent bitterness, dryness, spicy-grassiness. A nice juicy DIPA with more bitterness than most.

A hazed yellow milky DIPA with a thin creamy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light talcum, powdery, nice and perfumey. In mouth, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, treacle, light chalky notes, pleasant. On tap at Lupulus.

Tap at brewpub. Murky yellow colour, small white head. Aroma has mango, hop oils, quite light. Medium-bodied. Pineapple, mango, fruityness but in quite dry form. Appearently loads of aroma hops. Light touch of alcohol. A bit too dry juicy ipa for my liking.

Bottle from Bellwoods Brewery in Toronto at home in HK. Hazy bright straw yellow pour with limited bubbly white head. Aroma is lemon and orange zest, juicy, bright, and pithy. Taste follows with sharp sharp citrus zest bitterness with tart finish and boozy warmth. Tingly carbonation. Lasting pithy bitterness. Really good. Definitely get again.
