Utilizing New Zealand Hops and influenced by German style, we have created a true collaboration of flavours, ingredients and ideas, perfect for a West coast summer. Dry hopped with Pacific Gem, this kettle sour combines a tart and light body with hints of blackberry and oak. Using rye malt enhances the complexity providing an underlying spiciness to blend with the fruity and bright notes.

On tap at Doan's, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is restrained, with notes of restrained citrus and lacto. Flavour follows accordingly, with gentle citric tartness, moderate lacto and minor dry hopping. Not especially complex but everything is balanced decently enough. Meh.

Hazy, light tan. The aroma has some cleaning solution, but the taste is more of a straight lactic sour. Some berryish fruitiness, but otherwise has that same nice tartness. Light body.

Bottle - Some light sweet candy notes and soured malts. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Tropical fruit and sour notes with a clean finish. Fruity and nice.

2016-05-11, bottle at Josh’s, 7-3-6-2-13=31
Much better aroma, nice crisp malts and a touch of chamomile. Mildly acidic and puckery flavor, with more malt flavor than I detected
2016-05-06, draught at Doan’s, 5-3-6-3-12=29
Hazy dark blond with tin compact head. Very little beer character, with just some acidity added; cleaner than other Vancouverian kettle sours, but it’s not enough effort.
What am I drinking? A spoon of lemon juice in water…
