This Smoked Extra Stout Porter was developed on the occasion of the double anniversary of SNAB. Brown Porter, our very first beer, has been a symbol of SNAB for two decades. With Roock we pay homage to this classic style with an XX version, known since 1820 as Extra Stout Porter to indicate the stronger version. By using smoked barley, USA hops and yeast, a distinctive combination was created that gives a complex beer with a distinct smoke flavor.

37,5 cl. corked bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Black with a big beige head. Smoky aroma with hops, coffee and roasted malts. Nice gentle smoke taste not overwhelming the others falvours. Body could be thicker but overall a great, very well balanced beer.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 26 July 2013) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted, smoky nose with liquorice, black rye bread and smoky malt. Malty, smoky, roasted taste with notes of smoked malt, smoked ham, black rye bread, dark chocolate, liquorice and a certain roasty bitterness coming through the smoke veil. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting, with a good smoke character. Nice one.
