An ode to our barn beginnings, this flavourful Farmhouse Ale has spicy & fruity notes, with a peppery finish. A very aromatic, golden brew, with spicy, peppery and fruity notes. Surprisingly light, but packs a punch of flavour to enjoy.

473ml can. (Formerly Old Barn Saison) Pours a hazy amber-orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Aroma of rye malt, caramel, orange peel, Belgian yeast and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready rye malt, caramel, orange peel, Belgian yeast and floral hops in a dry, spicy black pepper finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Pretty solid.

Amber, hazy. Saison yeast, lightly toasty and peppery, touch of citrus. No major faults but nothing to get excited about, either. --- Beer merged from original tick of High Side Saison on 25 Dec 2021 at 05:29 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5. Original review text: Golden, quite phenolic, sweet, pretty simple and yeah a bit sticky, touch of bubblegum.

650ml bottle. Pours a cloudy blonde with a white head. Aroma is wild yeasts, fruity, tea notes, slightly sweet and sour. Taste is hoppy bitter, bready, fruity, yeasts. Hoppy bitterness, bready aftertaste. Just a not bad for refreshment for people who likes this kind of beer.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color with compact head. The aroma is mildly spicy. The mouthfeel is smooth, but the flavor, after the initial coriander, is full of vegetables and yeast. It also has some fruity esters and strong bitterness.
Very messy, not very pleasant.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a fairly clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out rustic farmhouse notes and lots of yeast, with fairly high residual candied sugar. Flavour is very authentic, like a typical North American pseudo-saison, with earthy yeasty notes and medium residual sugar. Very little complexity and not overly clean. Meh. --- Beer merged from original tick of High Side Saison on 14 Jul 2020 at 05:37 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: On tap at Fernie, pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice saison character, gentle esters, and some earthiness. Flavour has some good clarity, with gentle esters, decent expression of the saison yeast, and a touch of candi sugar. Not too sweet. The saison yeast is used pretty well for a BC, let alone North American brewery. Solid stuff.

Bottle - Sweet Belgian yeasts. Hazy gold with a decent white head. Some sweet yeast and bitterness. Decent but nothing special.
