On tap at the Storm Crow Alehouse. Dark brown with a nitro head. Smooth and creamy, with light chocolatey notes. Basic drinkable nitro porter, the nitro killing whatever malt nuances might exist. Hop bitterness only lightly perceptible. By the end of a glass you’re ready for something else.

Nitro - Roasty notes and some cocoa. Jet brown with a rich light brown head. Chocolate and some roast. The nitro doesn’t help the watered down flavours and body. Not bad, but not as good as it should be.

Can found in Edmonton, somewhere. Pours with a very good beige head and black body with some translucency but not a whole lot. Aroma is a very average roasted barley affair, not awful, but just as could be expected. Flavour is muddy roasted barley with hints of caramel and malt, with a watery finish. It’s all rather predictable and within normals, hardly memorable and immediately forgettable.

Draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver, nitro
Black color with large tan nitro head. A bit nutty, not too dry, but the nitro is a killer of aroma and flavor, if you combine it with a shallow beer you obtain a very boring product.

On nitro tap at 12 Kings, pours a red-tinged deep dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma brings out bready malt, some stale cardboardy notes, and oats. Flavour is quite punchy, with oats, dry bready makes and a subtle tartness undercurrent to it all. Really don't like these types of tart nitro porters / stouts. Inoffensive, but not my thing at all.
