28th Jan 2017: on-tap in Smoqued BBQ, Orange (California). Went well with my ’Burnt Ends’. Dark with minimal head, fairly sweet throughout with definite caramel aroma and taste alongside a smoldering peat bog base. Liked it.

Draft - Sweet caramel and light raisin. Deep, clear Amber with a decent white head. Sweet caramel, whisky notes and a light bitterness. Nice.

(tap) clear amber colour with a small brown head; aroma of stewed fruit, sour fruit, then roast; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a dark cream head. Smoke and caramel aroma. Caramel and smoke flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel and smoke linger with peat and a light cleaning solution starting to appear.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours darkly ruddy with a slight beige head. Aroma is malty with some light smoke. Med body. Flavor is smoke with roasted malt. Perhaps a touch nutty. It’s not bitter, and it’s not dry, but it’s not really excessively malty. I think there’s enough hop in it to make this a cliffhanger. Getting bitterer and drier as I type. Tasty stuff.
