Baltic brewers inspired by the dark beers flowing through British society brewed their own deep, dark, malt-forward beers with the lager yeast they had available, giving rise to the Baltic Porter style. Our Cobaltic Porter is inky black with a buoyant foam head. Aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate echo on the palate with hints of smoke and dark fruit. Full bodied and lightly sweet.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a dark brown color with a khaki head. The aroma is solid bitter dark chocolate and toasted malt. Focused. The flavor is a bit sweet with some root beer and strong notes of chocolate. Smooth and lightly creamy on the palate. Good roasted malt kick in the finish. Overall, very enjoyable, but on the sweet side.

14oz pour in Bru Grill and Market, Lake Forest, Orange County on 21st May 2015. Black with a tanned head. Malts all the way here, chocolate and coffee flavours rule the taste and nose, smooth, rich and tasty. Fairly sweet overall and an ideal last drink of the day: which it was.
