Beginning as a full bodied Imperial lager, a murderous amount of rye thickens the plot, adding a subtle spice note to a deliciously balanced brew. No twist; pry the cap off this killer rye.

At Matt’s place. Cereal, caramel and slight vegetables in the aroma and taste. Not interesting.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy dark red color, creamy head. Light cereals aroma. Sweetish bold body, stale cereals, a bit of rye, but ultimately cloying.
Not good.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is faint, with vegetal notes and toasted chestnuts. Flavour is inoffensive but pointless, with notes of toasted grains and vegetal notes. What were they going for here? Quite vegetal and grainy on the finish as well. Dry and drinkable enough, but not interesting. Meh.
