10/12/11/11//12

On tap at borefts 2011. black with lasting tan head. Dont normally like the texas rangers as got too much liquorice and tar for me. This has those but the speyside lifts it. Thats very good. Quite roasty. Decent beer. 3.8

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a small light brown head leaving a discreet lacework. Sweet roasted malt in the nose - and sweet whisky notes. Quite a rich body, a little low in carbonation, sweet roasted malt, somwwhat oxidized barrel character where the whisky feels smooth and warming. Hardly any bitterness. 011011

Draft at BBF 2011, courtesy of Mikkel’s crew. But where was Mikkel? Dark murky brown color, brown head. Aroma of vanilla, walnuts, smoke, chocolate. Taste is chocolate with chili warmth, kind of like mole sauce in Mexico. Whisky comes in near the finish. Nice.
