Tasting at Erik’s; can; 8% ABV
Black colour, small beige head. Huge coconut aroma. Chocolate flavour, big coconut flavour, but rather dry, it needs some more sugars to really elevate the coconut; roasted nuts. Spirit notes, maybe rum, this blends well with the coconut.
A bit too dry, not bad.

Tall can at Erik's. Vintage 2017. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is toasted coconut, some roated malt and chocolate. Taste is similar wit lots of coconut and roasted malt bitterness. Quite good.

16 oz. can, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a bunch of rum barrels, with a touch of coconut. Flavour is loaded with coconut upfront, with a touch of rum. Coconut galore with little else to discern. Decent.

Bottle from Belmont station. Pours out pretty much pitch black, dark and oily, small coating of beige head. Aroma is coconut, chocolate and roast grains, a little bit like a Mounds bar. Taste brings more coconut, a little bit of vanilla sweetness, dark chocolate, followed by a sharp bitter bite. Pretty damn smooth killer bite at the end.

Dark brown, rum butter nose, with lots of sweet chocolate. Man that rum butter character is so lush and delicious...love this. Lots of coconut, too. I have to say, they kind of got into the spirit of foreign stout, which is more than most American breweries that brew one but have zero understanding of the style. So conceptually it’s a chuckle, but fun, and executed well. I’d drink this a lot if I lived here.

Draft - Big boozy barrel notes. Jet black with a decent light brown head. Sweet, boozy, barrel notes and roasty bitterness. Big and bold.

On tap at Belmont Station. Pours a pure black color with a medium beige head. A big nose of barrel, coconut and roast. The flavor is just as big if not bigger coconut rum flavors, chocolates, cocoa, very sweet. On cask. Smooth. Good.

Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. The beer is a dark brownish-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roasted malt and coconut. Medium body with flavors of toasted coconut, chocolate and a bit of oak. The finish is roasty although a little thin with a coconut aftertaste. Above average overall.
