A strong, fruity, belgian-style trippel.

Our aptly named Christmas Ale is based on the strong beers traditionally brewed by Belgium’s trappist monasteries and has a light golden colour. Because of its high strength this beer has an intensely fruity palate. Up front it has a honeyish sweetness but the finish is dry and champagne-like. On tap until early January.

Has a very faint and sweet Belgian ale aroma. Appearance is a boring yellow with no head. Flavour is icky adjuncys and sweetness with very slight hop notes. Okay mouthfeel. It’s a very awkward style Belgian ale, best avoided.

Brewed better than many,of their beers. Pours clear golden with some head and lacing. Aroma has slight bubblegum and a wisp of florals. Coriander or nutmeg or something in very light dose. Hard to detect much going on here. Finishes slightly sweet like sugar water. Tap at Alibi Room.

Draught at the brewpub, 10% ABV
Blond color, just a dark shade, with almost no head. Mild aroma, the flavor is stronger; both have a light corn and paper feeling; it’s also moderately sweet, with light fruity touch from the yeast, but the spicy character is basically missing; there is a trace of thyme.
Pleasant but simple.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours hazy golden. Aroma and flavour of yeast, citrus and banana on the finish. Very nice tripel.

2006: Slightly hazy peachy colour. Peachy, flowery aroma with some alcohol and a hint of bubblegum. Big flavour - actually not terribly tripelish. Strong alcohol leads into a very sweet peachy/flowery midsection. The finish has a lot of syrupy malts that are only broken by the strong alcohol kick.

Shines in the tulip shaped glass like sherry. The nose is perfumy, with hints of spice. The body is yeasty with a mouth full of perfumy spices and a tight body. The finish is like a spiced up sherry. Not overly complex, but well made.
