Amber colour, light coffee characters. Creamy nitro mouthfeel, caramelly malts, not much toastiness or bitterness. In balance, the coffee is pretty mellow, too, but this just makes it a light brew all round.

Draft - Roast coffee and dark malts. Jet black with a rich beige head. Thin and coffee roast but not good coffee. A let down.

On nitro tap at Yaletown, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out fairly restrained coffee notes, along with some toasted bready malt. Flavour is bitter, with harsh coffee, some metallic notes and stale bready malts. Palate is smooth, but the metallic tinge in the body sort of destroys this. Rather weak and light-bodied despite the nitrogenation. Not so good.

Draught at the brewpub
Black color with large compact beige head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and some cardboard; smooth because of nitro; the roastiness could come from coffee; quite powerful despite the nitro, nice Stout/Porter.
