Draft - Sweet and fruity, almost banana and a touch of roast with pine. Deep jet brown with a decent light brown head. Bitter, sweet and fruity with a long sweet, fruity, bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of roasted malt upfront, followed by piney hops and some light metallic notes. Flavour is similar, with notes of roasted malt, bitter hops, metallic notes, and a rather pungent astringency on the finish. Not the most elegant beer, but it works somewhat. Brutal beer, but decent in its brutality.

Dark brown color, near black, with compact brown head. Deep aroma, not only roasted malts, but also dark chocolate and pungent resiny hops. The mouthfeel is well carbonated and very dry; it blends two strong characters, ashy roastiness from the malts and pungent resins from the hops; the bitterness is not excessive, there is some boutique coffee in the final.
A lot of character for this beer, this is probably what is expected from an archetypal Black IPA. Excellent. Abrasive.
