Our take on a classic German Schwarzbier. Rich, roasted malt notes harmonize with the clean, crisp character of a lager.

Dark brown with a medium head. Fairly toasty, chocolate note, overall not bad. I wouldn't mind a touch more sugar but that's my preference for sweeter dark sugars talking.

Bottle - Toasted malts and some cocoa. Deep jet brown with a small beige head. Toasty notes and a nice grainy sweetness. Absolutely solid, maybe a bit too much toast, but I like it.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of roast and oats - smells like a stout almost. Flavour is very hearty, with a lovely oat quality that dominates, followed by some roast and a touch of dry coffee. Full-bodied and a delight to sip by a nice warm fire.
