Pours a dark amber colour with a nice off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, some caramel, raisins, sugary. Too watery and lacking body for my taste.

Caramel aroma and flavor with some peach and salt, espoecially in the aroma. Just a touch of roasted malt in the flavor. Not bad, some flavors compensate the caramelly sweetness that is usance in Dutch macro bocks.

Fles geprobeerd in Oirschot.

Typical mass-marketed top-fermenting Dutch bock with a yellowish, irregular head and warm, deep wine-red colour. Fruity and caramelly aroma, elderberry, sweet cherries, port wine, a bit dusty as well; taste a well-rounded, smooth maltiness with fruity accent, in the middle more nutty and even a bit toasted, finishing dryish with pretty strong alcohol, clearly not well-hidden and therefore a bit off-putting to my taste.

Clear very dark ruby brown colour, tan frothy head, stays for a while, good lacing. Sweet malty aroma, roasted brown sugar, caramel, herbs, basement aromas. Bittersweet roasted malt taste, brown sugar, syrup. Medium to full body, sticky mouthfeel; smooth bittersweet finish.

Sample from 30 cl bottle. Deep brown color. Off white to beige head with good lacing. Aroma’s: red fruit, sweet. Sweet, sugar, and red fruit retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet. Prickly mouthfeel. Rather thin bodied. Finishes slightly dry, but with hardly any flavor. Disappointing, but my expectations weren’t high to begin with.

Test vom 17.2.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,11,8,12,9 - 9,75
