500 ml bottle. Pours a mahogany color with moderate head. Aromas of dry malts, light caramel, muddled fruit and a bit of grass. Flavors of dull sweet fruit, lots of caramel malts and more dry grass. Can't get an barrel. More of an English barley wine IMO.

500ml from Costco shared at Andrey's with Alex and Jamey. Appearance: hazy copper with weak white head. Aroma: caramel, fruity, no bourbon character. Taste: along the same lines, moderately sweet, quite bitter. Overall: pretty good American barleywine.

On tap at Beermongers. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. A big fruity nose. Big English BW fruity base, candied fruit, toffee. Very good.

750ml bottle pours with a nearly opaque deep copper body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up woody and pine hops with malts and caramel malts with a thin molasses note in the background. The taste delivers lots of malt softened hops that are pine, floral, grassy, mineral and woody to start. It then quickly gets into malts, a bit of caramel malts and molasses that sweeten up and soften the experience. The bitter hops and sweet notes that have an almost bready edge go well together. Solid rich hoppy sipper.

Draught at the brewery
Dark amber color, clean, with small head. Strong aroma of caramelized sugars, with a light fruity presence, very light smoke; I’m thinking of Christmas pudding. Full bodied; the flavor is equally malt and caramel, sweet, but balanced by an American hopping level, and warming alcohol. No flaws, powerful, it delivers.
Excellent American Barley Wine.

On tap at Wander, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is intense, with lots of bourbon barrels, stone fruits and alcohol. Flavour is along the same likes, with loads of bourbon and alcohol upfront, transmuted with dark fruits and stone fruits. Not overly complex and some of the flavours clash. Messy and abrasive. It's okay, but not skillfully made.

Draft - Sweet light caramel and candied stone fruit. Clear gold with a nice beige head. Sweet fruity, plum and candied fruit with a light bitterness in the finish.
