Sampled @ RB Danish Summer Gathering 2013 day 1, Ulfborg. Bottle. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell malts and hay. Taste malts, hay, slightly sweetish grains and a slight touch of bitter at the same time. High, a bit fizzy carbonation, average body. Not too hood imo.

Good white head over lightly copperish tinted golden beer; quite well carbonated. Toasted malts nose, parsley, washing softener, very faintly bananaester. Again toast, fresh herbs, lightly coloured, crisp malts in evidence. New or relabeled, this is indeed a perfect mid-way between British pale ale and Spéciale Belge. Carbonation doesn’t last. Quite slick; light body. Definitely better than the sum of its parts - not obvious for this brewery lately. Deserves better recognition - and I’d call it Spéciale Belge, rather than "Original Blond". Oh and, no disrespect, but the best way to honour the slain is not military oompah, but listening to Eric Bogle singing The green fields of France...

#200 Belgian Ale. Lovely label. Purchased @ Willems. BBF 16/04/2015. Lovely label & great cap but I am certain that the beer is bound to be less impressive but maybe I am just a pessimist. Also why is this in 50 cl. bottles? Clear, lighter golden, almost no white head. Smell is grains from a mile away, heavily reminds me of a pale lager, citrus, cereal, chemical, sweet artificial lemon ehhh, not a good promise. Sweet grains flavour, pale, once again pale lager, light corn, sweet, light banana & malts, sweet added sugars,… It is almost like a premium pale lager or something. This could beat the hell out of Jupiler. Easily drinkable but impossible to call particularly exiting or good. I would like to serve the soldiers at Passchendaele something way better – this is just abusing the historical site – I would like to serve them like a Black Albert or something like that. Also what hops? Let us just give them Black Albert.
