An ultra-experimental mish mash of styles. This is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock.

A big, bold mouthfeel backed by some powerful banana and classic weizen notes, balanced by an ecclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Brambling Cross).

The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffie pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.

This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz.

Liten beska. Ett dessertöl.

On tap at Brewdog Edinburgh Saturday 15th March Hazy amber with off-white head, very sweet with hints of banana showing. Quite thick and substantial mouthfeel it slowly fades away showing a great deal of alcohol warmth. Possibly too sweet for me, its fine but the sweetness makes me feel like I’ve eaten too many blue smarties and want to start whizzing about. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3

375ml bottle from allmyvinyl. Appearance - murky brown with some lacing. Nose - toffee and banana with sweet alcohol notes. Taste - more banoffee pie with some cream. Palate - full bodied with a big creamy texture and a fairly elegant finish considering the style. Overall - there’s so much barrel and alcohol in this beer, that I’m not sure if the underlying beer is. That said, I got a lot of enjoyment out of it.

375 ml synthetic corked & caged green bottle (nearly impossible to open), Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle No. 4881 of 9992. ABV is 10.2%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Strong, sweetish and very malty aroma, notes of oak, over-ripe berries and caramel. Very sweet, rich and malty flavour. Notes of caramel and over-ripe bananas, plenty of oak. Will probably improve with a few years in the cellar. Not a favourite as it is.

375 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Unclear orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma gives an impression of sweet malt, dry fruit and some ripe banana with alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty, some caramel, berries and fruit, bitter, warming alcohol and some kind of fruity acidity. Full body and long aftertaste that ends a bit acidic. Quite nice sipper, but a bit to heavy in the long run for my likings.

Amber. Off-white head. Sour aroma of unintentionlly fermented fruit. Taste is more balanced with sweetness and caramel. Interesting, although low drinkability. Might be better with storage.

Bottle, gift from Jim- many thanks! Pours deep red with a thin beige head. Big blast of red berries up front. Then some apple crumble, fresh out of the oven. Fresh banana follows, captured at just the right point (for me, at least!) when there’s still a hint of green-ness on the skin and no brown spots have appeared. Toffee and caramel arrive near the end. Yes, these are all dessert flavours, and yes there’s no bitterness in sight, but somehow the beer is not over-sweet and never gets sticky or cloying. It’s unusual and I really liked it- well done!

Deep red color, good beige head, lace. Banana, wood, alcohol in the nose, a bit glueish. Full-bodied. Sweet, berries, banana, glue, alcohol, woody hoppyness. Reasonably drinkable.
