An ultra-experimental mish mash of styles. This is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock.

A big, bold mouthfeel backed by some powerful banana and classic weizen notes, balanced by an ecclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Brambling Cross).

The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffie pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.

This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz.

Bottle. Aroma fruity, raisins, plums. High ABV evident, not overpowering though. Hazy deep amber colour. Taste is really sweet with lots of flavour. Honey, caramel. Fruits. Enjoyable. Finish is balanced - dry grape hoppy bitterness with green apples and flavourless hoppy bitterness.

Bottle, kindly shared by Gurthnar, many thanks. Aroma, honey, alcohol, raisins. Taste, high sweetness, nuts, honey, raisins, apples, honey. Little bit more on sweet side, but overall good, not Weizenbock, tough.

(Keg at OlutExpo 2013) The beer poured deep amber and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, caramell, very ripe banana and malts. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, dark fruits, ripe banana, malts and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. An exessively sweet brew but for an Abstrakt this was really good one.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Hazy deep golden with a small head. Aroma and taste of malt, wheat, light spices, some dried fruit, bread and toffee. Also alcohol in the finish. Drinkable but a bit too sweet.

Bottle at Pre-Zwanze tasting, thanks to Fergus. It pours hazy mahogany brown with a small beige head. The nose is wood, caramelized banana, toffee, bruised fruit and banoffee pie. The taste is toffee, green banana, banoffee pie, melon, light bitterness, tart tatin, bread, warming alcohol and caramelized fruits. Full body and fine carbonation. Big banoffee pie character. Pretty tasty and well-executed.
