660ml bottle, vintage 2012, bought at Vinmonopolet Vika and shared with friends back home. Deep dark ruby coloured body. Moderate, fawn-coloured head, leaving clinging spotty lace behind. Inviting aromas of chocolate, earth, and apples. Just a very pleasant confectionery taste on a backbone of oak and apples. Dried bitter fruity hints towards the ending. Integrated alcohol. Velvety in the mouth. Lovely (Tromsø 23.08.2014).

Flaske 660ml spandert av Rune under sammenkomst hjemme hos ham 23 Aug 14. Svart. Lavt, litt farget skum. Svakt syrlig aroma. Innholdsrik smak. Starter med et snev av cider men blir raskt dominert av lakris & sjokolade. Hint av lær i avslutninga. Direkte behagelig øl!

Bottle shared at RBESG 2014 Grand Tasting. Opaque black color, decent sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, a little sweetness, a hint of alcohol, slightly roast. Decent stout! Nothing special. Medium body and carbonation.

Dyp sort fage. Ingen skum. Bare noen små bobler langs kant. God duft av kirsebær, lakris og kaffe. God smak av kaffe, kirsebær, cider og lakris. En fruktig og god øl, drikkes gjerne igjen..

Bottle, 66cl. A dark brown beer, looking unclear, and topped by a small, dark beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, salty licorice, some coffee grit and burnt down bonfire, hints of dried fruits and a little berryish sourness. Oak notes and a faint touch of booze. It’s a tad thin on the body, still far from watery, with a soft carbonation level. The flavor has more oak than the aroma, with roasted malts, berries, dark chocolate, brandy, hints of vinegar-ish cider and raisins. Lasting roasted and vinous, almost boozy finish. Berries, dark chocolate and bonfire chimes in. Sure a complex one, lots of fine flavors and aromas. Probably the first time I taste a beer aged in cider brandy barrels. I like it. More and more as it warms up and I drink it. 140620

0.6l bottle. Not even a hint of a swoosh when popping the cap on this one, and the head is a good as - or more precise totally absent. I'm going on a limb here and assuming that this will be one within the soft-carbonation category... Only a few scattered translucent bubbles on top of a deep dark licorice brown/black body. I smell lots of wood, sweet herbs, a little bit of licorice, dark fruits and some smoky hints in the back. A bit mild and definitely gentle, not bad though. Hmm.. This does not taste all that good to be honest. As good as dead flat on the bubbles as expected and it feels light oily in the mouth. Really woody and dusty in the taste. Old licorice, a good amount of sharp booze, some strange unbalanced smoky/rope thing and it's drying out my mouth in a unnatural way. There's no way I can finish this. A huge let down. *edit* Well, I did finish it, but it did not get any better.. Not much anyways. 27.11.2013
