Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks fonefan for this bottle! Dark brown to black. Aroma of malt, light roastiness, wood, spicy notes, dark fruits and brandy notes. Sweetish malty flavor, a bit roasty, with wood, a bit of chocolate, apple brandy notes and a drier finish. Medium to full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel.

Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting - London. Pours deep brown with a filmy, tan cream head. Sweet, somewhat boozy, with a bit of ripe fruits and woody dryness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately warming finish with dark malts, some dirt, alcohol-soaked fruits. It’s a very heavy beer and doesn’t carry the weight as well as it could.

Bottle at Chriso Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting, as Umbri Cotta 42, 31/03/13 thanks to whoever brought this one. Light black with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates. Nose is dark malt, dark chocolate, toffee, brown sugars, boozey notes. Taste comprises dark malts, toffee, brown sugars, booze. Full end of medium bodied lending towards a boozey finish. Overall not massively impressed, too much booze, lacking balance.

(Bottle, 0.66 l - BBE 2014, courtesy of VastActiv, 20130406) The beer poured black. Its head was very small and almost white. Aroma had cider, vanilla and roasted malts. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, cider, wood, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, cider, roasted malts, alcohol and bitter. A confusing beer but also pretty good.

Enjoyed at a beer tasting while stopping in at La Cave a Bulles in the great city of Paris, FR. Very happy to have tried this. Appearance is a rich pitch black with a bubbly dark tan head. Aroma of light brandy and chocolate, nice stuff. Taste is great, with a thick wine like consistency and rich chocolate notes. I unfortunately didn’t pick up a bottle to go, but really enjoyed having this stuff.
