Bread crust, chocolate, nuts and toffee emanate from this classic German style. With a surprisingly light mouth feel, this unfiltered lager has a dominant malt flavour accented by notes of almonds, toast and a touch of caramel. All which contribute to the well-rounded complexity and depth that this Dark Lager has to offer.

Very nice creamy head and solid copper body with no carbonation. Lots of creamy stout notes.Flavour is a neither here nor there affair of some barley and hints of lager hoppiness, but all watery and not quite combining into something very appetizing. Dry finish. It doesn’t strike me as well assembled.

Draft - Light toast and a touch of grain. Deep brown with a light brown head. Light cocoa, some twig and toast with a dry finish. Not bad.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Cloudy dark amber color with compact head. The aroma is delicate, a bit bready, and roasted nuts. Good body strength; it has strong flavor of roasted nuts, of bread, of grains, followed by rather strong bitterness.
Very appreciated for the malt presence, good work.

Light brown, light sweet nutty aroma, sweet taste, a nutty brown ale character. Not bad.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is faint, with notes of toasted nuts and bready malt. Flavour is true to style, with toasted nuts, dry toffee and lots of bready malt. Well-balanced and fairly flavourful for the style. Decent stuff.
