650ml bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with red hue and a medium, frothy, long lasting, light brown head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, maple syrup, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, maple syrup and caramel with a bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Decent, this would be their best offering IMO.

Bottle - Nice roast and some dark chocolate. Deep jet brown with a decent light brown head. Roast, chocolate and some nice sweet maple notes. Nice.

Cherrywood-accented medium brown. Toasty aroma with chocolate, and no maple. Thick syrupy body, with light chocolate, and hints of toast and maple. OK porter, the maple is more a gimmick as it has largely fermented out, but it is probably better that way.

Bottle from BC Liquors, Robson St., Vancouver
Black color; medium sized compact head, but reducing quickly to a thin layer. Mild aroma of roasted malt and light liquorice. It has a good body texture; the roasted malts are quite smooth; there is a light perception of burnt malts too; but there is also some liquorice, that I don’t fancy too much; traces of vanilla and coffee. It has some degree of complexity, and it’s well constructed. Pleasant.

Okay dark brown appearance and dark beige head. Aroma of roasted barley, typical microbrew porter aroma. Flavour is bitter roasted barley moving into chocolate and coffee flavours; it ends with a watery finish and a bitter aftertaste. I couldn’t pick out the maple syrup at all.
