Brettanomyces yeasts can digest sugars unavailable to regular brewers yeasts – by using Brett as a secondary strain we can access these and add a new dimension to a beer. Brett flavors can range from tropical fruit to farmyard and sour notes dependant on the strain used.
The Belgian pale ale style was orginally designed to compete with pilseners and British pale ales. Our beer continues in this tradition of innovation – combining the complexity and richness of flavour associated with Brett beers with an approachable, easy drinking style.

650 ml bottle. Gusher. Minus points - brewers of ready to drink beers should be able to prevent this...Pours a very cloudy amber with full head. Aromas of bananas, fruit esters leaning towards overripe fruit, and doughy malts. Flavors of earthy fruit esters, old apples, bandaids and more doughty malts. A bit of mess and amateur, though not overly offensive.

Bottle - Sweet citrus and light tropical notes. Clear gold with a rich white head. Sweet, light alcohol notes and a great burst of sweet Mandarin. Light yeasty notes and a clean finish. So much better than I expected.

On tap at Old Abbey Ales, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Nose is massively floral, with notes of bubblegum quite prominent. Flavour is similar, bringing out Belgian yeast, bubblegum and some biscuity malt. Well-balanced and clean. Well-made.
