Good dose of smoke and some dark chocolate. Pours black with decent head. Light bitter finish. Pretty well done. Tap at brewery.

Cask at the brewery
The color is almost black, with frothy beige head. The aroma is delicate, smoke and Brett. Light mouthfeel, dry, it seems to work well with the mild sourness and moderate smoke; it also has roasted malts, light funk character, lemon, rye bread; dynamic mouthfeel. It’s a mix of very different things, and they seem to fall together quite well. Strange and original beer, actually very enjoyable.

Draft - Soured funky malts and some cheese. Deep maroon with no head. Sour, smoke, fruit funky notes and a tart dry finish. Odd. Tastes better than it smells.

On cask at Main Street, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a nice mix of funky brett, light smoke, and a little tart dark fruitiness probably from the brett. Flavour is more pronounced on the smoke upfront, followed by tart dark fruits, leather, and some bretty funk. This is really cohesive and well-balanced. They nailed this one.
