TSAR is rich and powerful, a full bodied Imperial Stout. Malty chocolate, mocha and dark berry fruit-notes preside over a subtle hop profile, whilst a smooth velvety texture in the mouth gives way to a lingering bitter, dark chocolate finish.

330ml bottle from Beer Gonzo. Pours black with large tan head. Aroma is chocolatey & malty. Taste is thick meaty roasted malts and chocolate, with some grainy coffee texture. Hugely enjoyable as usual from Buxton.

Pour is a black with a huge tan head. After the head goes down some chocolate roasted malts come out along with some dark fruit. Flavor is full of char malt with a nice roasted malt left on the tongue as this goes down. Some dark fruit is there as well. Pretty good with a bit of almost burnt malt but could have used a bit more hops. This is probably what a Russian Impy stout tasted like back in the day rather than the Americanized versions of today.

Pours dark brown, just a bit of foam. Aroma is hoppy, kind of like BIPA. Taste is also nicely hoppy, nice roasty liquorice chocolate body is quite well covered and does not feel to have too high abv. I like this one quite a lot.

Bottle. Hoppy nose, citrus and soy, licorice. flavors of orange, licorice, chocolate, berries. Very nice. Would call it an imperial black IPa.

pitch black color. Dark brown head. Huge roasted malt character with tobacco leaves with ctirus notes. Def a imperial black IPA nose. The mouth is smooth, lots of hops and roastiness, but the mouth is a bit thin. Very nice but much like imperial black IPA

Bottle. Pours deep black, small tan head, dissipates quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is rich, some cocoa, anise, molasses, roasted malts. Flavor is light plus sweet and quite bitter, anise, blackstrap molasses, a bit sharp, verge of rubbery, some ashtray. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Long lasting lingering bitterness is a bit distracting.

Bottle from bottle-shop.eu. Thanks Bob! Dark brown colour, brown foam. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Very bitter hoppy finish, grassy notes. More Imperial Black IPA than Imperial Stout. Good.
