TSAR is rich and powerful, a full bodied Imperial Stout. Malty chocolate, mocha and dark berry fruit-notes preside over a subtle hop profile, whilst a smooth velvety texture in the mouth gives way to a lingering bitter, dark chocolate finish.

0,33L bottle, BB 08.04.2019. Pours black with brown head. The head stays. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, roast, and licorice. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate, some fruits, ash, and some sourness. Finish is long coffee, dark chocolate and dry bitter. Overall: very well made stout, but I prefer the ones that are a little bit sweeter.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long great finish. Creamy palate. World class.

Bottle, 9.5%. Sweet, jammy aroma. Black colour, seems clear. Big stable dark brown head. The flavour is nicely hoppy, grassy and piney. Sweet and roasted. Does not taste so bitter, but probably is. Low carbonation.

Bottle. Pours cloudy nearly black with stable dark tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel, fruit and liquorice. Bitter, roasty flavour, with sweet notes of caramel malt, fruit and coffee. Warming alcohol presence. Bitter aftertaste. A nice one.

330ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium head. Aroma is milk and dark chocolate, with blackcurrant Lockets. Taste has blackcurrant to start. Bitter chocolate and piney hop finish.

Bottle from Mikkeller & Friends Bottle Shop, January 2014. Black with a thick tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt and some ash. Taste of roasted malt, ash, dark chocolate and some licorice. The finish was bitter and quite dry. A pleasant one.

Pitch black color with generous compact brown head. Intense aroma of dark chocolate, dark bread, biscuits, yeast, mild aroma of cheese rind, hints of coffee; fascinating. Smooth mouthfeel, although there is some sharp sourness from the dark malts; strong flavor of roasted malt, quite unidirectional, with some ashes, light liquorice; strong bitterness, and also strong roasted malt character in the end.
The flavor is more boring than the aroma. Good but not unforgettable.

Nose leads with light go flower thenis leather, roast malt, raisin,slight licorice, slight coffee. Taste is roasted malt, smoke, dark cherry, figs, the finish is lifted by hops, and is fruit cake in the smoke. Mouthfeel is full. Very nice beer. Edit. New bottle 2014. Dry hopping seems more pronounced with much more hop flowers in the nose and pine in the in the body, slightly overwhelming the flavours from previous review

Bottle.Pitch Black colour with medium head.Aroma of chocolate and coffee,nice full body,and hint of coffee and blackberries,but also hint of pepper and oile,nice well balanced and smooth finish.
