Too kick off our one year anniversary we are releasing Sapperton, a kettle soured red lager named after the NewWest community where brewing in the lower mainland began.

This single-batch anniversary beer pours a light amber with notes of peach, apricot, & plum on the nose followed by a smooth malty backbone and a refreshing tartness.

Available now in our Tasting Room and currently on delivery trucks to your favourite local private liquor stores.

Nice reddish- brown body with very little foam, good sweet raspberry on the nose with malt hints. Flavour is sweet raspberry with big chewy malt behind it. Bold and sweet but it works, nicely balanced and memorable.

Amber colour, drops bright. No head. Has a vague kettle sour nose. Tart, but with some wonky yeast stuff. Light fruitiness, ok that’s fine, but the yeastiness on the palate is not a desirable character. Lacks complexity, too. Just not sure what the point is.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and German lager yeast - not getting any hint of sourness on the nose. Flavour is pretty similar - lots of bready malt, lager yeast and an ever so slight hint of tartness, but not really what I'd label as sour. Boring but clean. Okay.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Cloudy light amber color with creamy head. The aroma is delicate and original; there is some dust, light fruits, perfumy talc. The mild sourness blends in well, but the base beer seems to be needing something more, better flavor. It’s smooth, it has ordinary bitterness. Some chalky astringency in the final.
Not a bad beer, not a beer I’m looking forward to drink again, not adding much to the personal experience.
