Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

Bottle. Amber color with tan head. Aroma is peaches, resinous, some fussle oils, booze, biscuity malt. Taste is more peaches and resins, booze, maybe some strawberries, biscuity malts. Warming bittersweet boozy finish. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Not bad, quite intense.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Clear copper-amber. flavor is really geared to the malt/sugar. The high alcohol shows itself with high residual sugar. A very good beer, but would love a little more attenuation.

Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! Tons of toasted caramel, toffee and very malt-forward on the nose and palate. Well-balanced with the malt doing the heavy lifting, but the hops shine on the finish and leave a nice bitterness. This feels and drinks a lot more like a hoppy barley wine. Still good stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Devil Dancer on 03 Jun 2016 at 22:24 - Score: 7. Original review text: Toasted caramel malt. Toffee. Nice hoppy barley wine.

Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle, bottled on May 4, 2015, poured into a glass. Dark Amber with small beige head. Aroma is dank hops, medium/thick body, syrupy texture, medium/low carbonation, and small-bubble lacing. Taste is dank hops, strong malt, and bitter finish. Heavy and not much grapefruit hops.

Draft - Caramel malts and some resin with some vinous notes. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Boozy caramel notes, vinous and some hoppy bitterness. More like an American Barleywine.
