Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

(355ml bottle from Systembolaget, ~2 months old) Pours clear ruby-amber with a decent size doff white head that fades with lacing. Aroma of intense mix of sweet caramel malts and candied fruit notes - pineapple, apricot, citrus, resin, pine, light bread, an aromatic woody note. Flavor is also intense, that quite sweet caramel malt core has some bready layers, and then there is a fair hit of hop resin, quite pine-heavy. Some dried fruit notes but nothing really jumps out. Pine resin, needles, earth and citrus pith join booze in a fairly dry, aggressively bitter finish. A bit of menthol in the dry aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Feels like something between an IPA and a massively hopped barleywine thanks to the sweet malts and more piney, bitter hops. Pretty intense, perhaps not extremely drinkable.

Maffigt.

What a lovely color! Deep amber with a fine off white head. Looks just great. Nice intensity in the aroma also. Lots of hops and fruity. Full body and a fine smooth carbonation. No cloying sweetness. It is of course a lot of sweetness here, but the bitterness backs it well up. Oily texture. Solid complex stuff. Grapefruit hoppy, tropical, toffee, pine and dried fruits. Some boozy notes, but still very well masked for an ale at only 12%. Great stuff!

Founders Devil Dancer Triple IPA 12% Bottle at Imazato shared with Marco.

A deep reddish orange with a filmy beige head. A boozy dank fruity pine aroma. The taste is boozy, heat, resinous fruit (apricot, plums) and candied caramel. Tasty stuff but too boozy.
