Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

355 ml bottle from Systembolaget poured in to a Snifter. Bottled in May ’16. Hazy, amber red colour with a thin, off-white head. Fruity aroma with pines, citrus fruits, resins, rich caramel malts and a toasted note. Taste is bitter. Full body with an oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes long lasting dry and bitter with heavy pines and caramel malts. Hints of booze. A big, heavy beer. Very American. Maybe even too much of a good thing?

Bottled. Copper colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some fruits, mild toffee and resiny notes with mild sweet alcohol as well. Flavour is quite strong on the floral and fruity bitterness, but also has some sweet malts, mild alcohol as well as some nutty and slight spicy notes to it as well. Big brew, but still very balanced.

01.09.2016, 12 oz bottle shared with friends @ Royal GourmetBurger & Gin:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh concentrated grassy, leafs, fresh hops, moss, minerals, caramel malts, weeds, citrus peel, alcohol. Taste is dry concentrated harsh grass, weeds, citrus peel, harsh hops, grass, alcohol, cardboard, minerals, medicine, bark. Longlasting bitterness, harsh medical mouthfeel. Fair enough, but not really my cup of tea.

A dark orange colour, almost red, a head is medium and blond. Aroma is powerful, strong maltyness with caramel, pine, grapefruits, some warming alcohol. Taste has strong maltyness, resiny wood, some fruitness, hint of alcohol is there as it should be there, maybe. A bitterness is strong, but it’s not feel so strong due to heavy maltyness in the body. Full bodied but not heavy. Powerfully at all ways, tasteful... yeah it is.

Bottled:
Pours deep amber with a large head.
Aroma is toffee, shampoo, pine needles and alcohol.
Thick and sticky mouth feel.
Taste is pine needles, toffee and hops leading to bitter, boozy, warming finish.
Not a bad beer, but was 12% abv really necessary?

355ml bottle from Alko. Bottled 05/10/16. Pours dark reddish orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of hoppy alcohol fumes, loads of resinous notes, chewy caramely malts, toffee, pine, ripe fruits and hints of citrus. Taste is resinous, bitter, dry and chewy caramely malty with some toffee, pine, citrus, grass and tropical notes. Finish is warming, lingering bitter, sweetish, resinous, caramely and malty with loads of grassy hops, pine, fruits, chewy toffee and hints of alcohol. Quite massive, but ABV is pretty well hidden.

355ml bottle. Milky, amber-ish ruby colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, sulphureous head, excellent laceworks. Sweet-ish, caramel malty aroma, condensed hoppy fruitiness has notes of cherry, orange and liquorice, orange liqueur. Taste is initially sweet caramel malty with a touch of cherry, then the 112 IBUs come in, the result is a prompt but fugacious swell of flavours, more fruitiness, cherry, orange, more presence of caramel malt with a touch of almond, all easy erased to give way to a long lasting, bitter finish. "Big fuss, little taste" in a way.

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av humle, malt, persika, aprikos, smörkola och grapefrukt. Lagom sötma, lätt fruktighet, tydlig beska som tar över aning mycket med smak av citrusskal, och maskrosstjälk.
