Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy straw colour with a medium white and frothy head. The aroma is dominated by both fruity and berry sweetness, and with hay and something perfumy towards alcohol. In the flavour I find more of the typical belgian yeast fruityness along with some spices. Slick mouth feel, and light bitterness. A decent belgian strong ale, balanced, but nothing special.

Draft @ Delirium, thank goodness for the free sample, another proof that a cool label does not mean a good beer, yet another mediocre John Martin beer.

Bottle, 8%. Hint of hay aroma. Hazy light orange colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is yeasty and slightly sugary with a little rough bitterness. 5 3 5 3 13

Draught, 8%. Yeasty and dusty aroma. Clear golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour starts off yeasty and alcoholic. Turns slightly sweet and nicely dusty. Some grainy vegetable, but OK for the style. Clean, but flavourful. 7 3 7 3 16

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a hazy golden with a lacing off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose, yeasty nose. Medium body, sweet fruit and spices with a distinct yeastiness. Heavy carbonation. Some alcohol warmth. Very, very Belgian. 180212

Bottle, 75cl corked. A big, creamy, off-white head forms over a clear, golden body. Some lacings. The aroma has white sugar, some pale malts, fruityness and a touch of grassy, peppery hops. It’s quite carbonated, medium bodied and dry, with flavors of white sugar, pale malts, generic fruits and bitterness. Some bitterness in the finish, but in a rather harsh way. A quite decent one, but rather ordinary actually. 120218
