This golden ale has been conditioned with fresh picked sitka spruce tips and piney, complimentary hops. To fully understand the true essence and inspiration of this beer, walk into the rainforest, quiet your mind, breathe in deeply, and let your senses take you on a tour of the timeless and harmonious place that is our natural world - if you can ignore all the insects and deadly predators. And rain. So much rain.

473mL can. Pours clear gold with off-white head. Aroma has malt base with notes of spruce and orange. Flavour has strong off-dry caramel malt backbone with a good dose of woody spruce. The sweetness from the malt and the slight astringency from the spruce are well-balanced. Solid beer.

Bomber bottle found in Nanaimo. Pours bright orange-brown with plenty of carbonation and minimal head. Soft aroma of sweet grains, hops, maybe spruce if you're thinking right. Flavour is a very sprucy bunch of hops, very sweet and candy-ish with malt on the back end. Full enough on the finish but in a sugary way. Not the best spruce ale I've had but does the trick if you're into sweet stuff.

Cloudy light pale, with bubbly head. Light spruce and a touch of diacetyl. Big spruce and this manifests as a berry character.

Cask at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Murky orange light color with frothy color. Nice aroma of citrusy PNW hops, sweaty. Soft mouthfeel, pleasantly sweet, very fruity, and the spruce tips are delicate hence fit well.
Very nice.

On tap at Alibi Room for the 400th beer list event, pours a cloudy orange with a medium white head. Aroma of spruce, oak, caramel malts, and a subtle hop profile. Flavour of spruce wood and oak chips, subduing the hop profile, with a nice dry caramel malt backbone. Very sprucey and woody, full of oak chips. Quite soft on the palate. Not reminiscent of an IPA really, but fairly complex. Good stuff, but the spruce becomes a bit overbearing after a while.
