Dark amber with not much head. Aroma was a bit light but the taste has a rich rye character and a lot of toastiness. Medium bitterness as well. Good balance...dodges style guidelines and yet is a very effective medium strength amber. That’s not easy to do.

Draft - Sweet perfumy caramel. Dark clear Amber with a decent of white head. Rye grains with spice and a bitterness that works well. Very dry finish, which in this case doesn’t work for me.

On tap at Bitter Tasting Room, pours a hazy dark amber with a small white head. Nose brings out bready malt and earthy notes. Flavour brings out earthy rye notes and bready malt. Well-balanced, earthy and bready. Decent.

Draught at Bitter Tasting Room, Vancouver
Red amber color, clean, with compact head. Aroma of caramel and a bit of yeast. Caramel flavor, earthy, spicy, with light residual sweetness, and very strong bitterness, very resiny hops; it has too much yeast flavor.
Not bad, but rough; the earthy/spicy rye component, with the bitterness and the yeast is a bit too much.
